The RV Road Trip Part-Timer's Blog for November 2015

We managed to get the van completed enough to where we could actually take it camping, but the camping season is now over here in Alabama. We will use the time over the winter to hopefully finish up the interior of the van. We have a Thanksgiving trip planned to visit Jerry's Dad in Georgia, but other than that, it won't get driven very much. Interior cabinets and the ceiling panels will be the next big thing, and I reckon solar panels after that. We won't be in any rush and the winter seems to drag on unlike the warmer months. Of course, we will update the site as progress is made. [63]

November and December are the busiest months of the year for most people, and we are no different. Granted, we dictate our own schedules so we are busy because of own doing. Like we do almost every year, we are heading over to Georgia to spend Thanksgiving with Jerry's dad and his wife Sharie. His Dad is in poor health due to emphysema and needs oxygen just for day to day living. Here's a pro tip boys and girls... DON'T SMOKE! It isn't worth it.

We're looking forward to having all 6 of our grand kids together at one time next month. Now they all won't be staying in our house, but we are very excited about seeing them all. They range in age from 1 year old to 14 years old. We're really, really glad our kids are grown as we are too old to raising kids, but we do enjoy the grand kids when they visit for short visits. Short visits are good. [65]

We're spending Thanksgiving at Jerry's dad's house. We'll stay an extra day as we had the time and we don't get over there as often as we should. We brought all the food with us as they aren't physically able to cook big meals any more. We're having turkey, dressing, fresh corn, rolls, cranberry sauce shaped like a can, and more. Yum! [66]

We haven't made any more progress on the van conversion due to the weather, health issues, time constraints and at times, pure laziness. Yeah, it has been a rough month. We doubt that December will be much better as so much goes on that month with the holidays and all. As we make more progress, will update the site and also share it with you here. [67]
