Hot diggity! We found a Palomino Gazelle G210 on Craigslist. At first, we thought it was a fake ad (grrrr, I hate what the scammers do on Craigslist) so I ignored the ad. A week later it was still there; a simple ad selling a 2007 Palomino Gazelle G210, barely used, included an Equalizer hitch for only $10K. No picture either so that is usually a red flag.

So I decided "what the heck" and called the number in the ad. A very nice gentleman answered and said he still had the camper though several people called about it and some even promised to come look but never did. I asked him these questions... Why are you selling it? What's wrong with it? Where is it located? Can we come inspect it? He was a retiree who bought the camper thinking he and his wife would like it. They took 3 short trips in it and found out they didn't care for the RV life so they wanted to sell it. He stated there was nothing wrong other than he dinged one corner with his riding lawn mower. He was in Gulfport, MS and I was in Jemison, AL.

We drove down to Gulfport, MS today to look at the camper. It was like looking at a brand new camper on the dealer lot. He had everything hooked up and ready for us to test. We spent 2 1/2 hours going over the camper from top to bottom. Everything worked to our satisfaction, no problems of any kind. It even had dishes in the cabinets! We looked at the title and discovered it was a 2008 model, not 2007 like he thought. Even better!

It came with the Equalizer brand weight distributing hitch, 2 campground directories, 5 other RV related books, dishes that matched the camper, sewer hose and connectors, fresh water hose, water pressure regulator, 90 degree elbow for the water inlet, wheel chocks, and a few other little things. We paid the man $10k, did the paperwork, hooked the trailer up and drove it back to Jemison. We are excited!

Dang, I just thought of something that makes me sad. I have to pay taxes on this thing now. Grrrr.

Taxes Oh, how I dislike the tax man! He got me... again! He gets you when you earn it, he gets you when you save it, he gets you when spend it, he gets you when you give it away, he even gets you when you die! For the life of me, I don't understand why people keep electing these taxaholics.

But anyway, the taxes are paid and I have a tag for the camper. Now I can use it! Woohoo! Time to start planning the maiden voyage. I've heard the best thing to do is camp in your driveway so when you discover what you forgot, you just run into the house and get it. That makes sense but were not going to do it that way, we'll just go to a nearby campground.
