I want to give a shout out to Bell Helmets. A little over 4 years ago, we bought a matching pair of white Bell Revolver EVO helmets. Well, one of the helmets has developed a yellowish tint to it. I sent an email to Bell customer service letting them know of the issue in case there was a manufacturing problem they were unaware of. Well, they asked for my address so the could send me a replacement helmet! Now that's customer service.

In a few days we will be heading to New Orleans to speak at the Louisiana Camping Conference. We are looking forward to the trip. I have been to New Orleans many times but Cynthia has never been. I have also eaten beignets at Cafe DuMonde but Cynthia hasn't. We will make a run to downtown so she can see how tasty they are. We may or may not drive through the French Quarter, we're just not that interested in seeing it. [121]

I picked up the motorcycle on February 28th from Smith's Sport Cycles in Tuscaloosa. The bike was shipped from Colorado (which I had to pay for) because there were not any available anywhere in the South. I rode it straight home because the skies were overcast and there was a threat of rain. Thankfully, it did not rain on me!

This bike rides very differently than what I am used to. I got used to a zippy little scooter and this thing is much larger and sits much lower. The low seat and the back rest are my favorite things about it, I will just have to get used to it. It's in the garage right now waiting for me to go riding.

We'll be heading to Bessemer today to pick up Cynthia's new car. It is a dark silver 2017 Honda CRV EX-L. She deserves a new car even though her van was very nice on the inside and trouble free. This new car has lots of safety features that weren't available before. It will take her a while to get used to all the new controls, etc. We'll post a pic of the car once we get one. Below is one of the bike in the garage. [122]

Cynthia got her new car, a 2017 Honda CRV EX-L just like she wanted. She changed her mind about getting a red one and opted for a dark silver color. It has mud flaps and a sunroof wind deflector added to it, and we put in a set of WeatherTech floor mats. The car is amazing, lots of gadgets and gizmos in it... we're still learning how to operate everything. We sold her old 2001 Toyota Sienna to someone local. That was a great van for us and I hope the new owner gets 200K or more miles out of it.

I've taken the new bike on a ride or two. The weather has not been cooperating. It is either warm and rainy or freezing and sunny. Tomorrow is supposed to be partly cloudy, warm and no rain so hopefully I can take a ride. If you want to see the videos I make while riding, be sure to check out my YouTube Channel.

Our son Robby is in Air Force Basic Training right now. We'll be heading to San Antonio to attend his graduation in late April. We already have our motel reservations right outside Lackland AFB. We will get to see him for a few days before he ships off to his advanced training. I can't wait to see how the military will have matured him in such a short time. He was a great kid already, but the military teaches discipline and leadership skills. Heck, I wish every kid, male and female, should be required to serve 2 years in the US military immediately upon graduation from high school. Oh well, wishful thinking I guess. [123]

We are currently searching for property to build a house on. Our goal is to have a few acres so we can have a small hobby farm. Due to the fact that nearly all of our time will be dedicated to this, we will not be doing a lot of traveling and thus we won't have anything to add to this blog. This will be the last entry here. We will document the land search and construction of the house and farm at http://homestead.jerryandcynthia.com [124]
