December is a hectic month for many people. They are just getting over the trauma of being with all their family members, eating turkey and dressing, turkey sandwiches, turkey salad, turkey gumbo, etc. Now the new frustration is getting Christmas pictures made. You are told to wear clothes you don't usually wear, stand in poses you would never otherwise stand in, twist your body in ways in wasn't meant be and look off into the distance at something that isn't there. How ridiculous!

Well, we had the rare opportunity to have all 6 grand kids together in one place, so Cynthia insisted on getting pictures taken by a photographer. It is so much easier and cheaper to get a relative to take the pictures but nooooo! So we put on clothes we don't normally wear, stood in places we don't normally stand, and we all tried to smile at that same time. FAIL! There's always one who wasn't smiling, one that was screaming bloody murder and 4 that really didn't want to be there for pictures. After all that and $75, we got a few great pictures and lots more than weren't all that great. If you must see them, go look on Cynthia's Facebook page. [64]

Well, we had all 6 grand kids together at one time and it was great! We had a photographer take our pictures, that was all Cynthia's doing. We never did get a picture where at least one of us wasn't screaming, blinking, looking away or being ornery. The pictures are all on Cynthia's Facebook page if anyone is interested in seeing them. Below is one of all the grand kids and one of us.

We did our Christmas while all the grand kids were so technically we are done with it for the year. We'll probably have a Christmas dinner, no turkey though. We've had more than enough turkey. As we do every year, we will get up at 6AM Christmas morning and go have a nice breakfast at Waffle House. Scattered, smothered and covered! [68]

The UPS man stopped by our house today, and dropped off a box. Now we weren't expecting anything so we didn't get all excited when we saw him walking up. The box turned out to be from Shari's Berries. We have seen their commercials on TV and knew they sold things like chocolate covered strawberries. We opened the box and sure enough, there were 2 smaller boxes with strawberries and truffle thingies. I picked up what appeared to be a strawberry covered in white chocolate and took a bite. Oh... my... goodness! Delicious just isn't a strong enough word to describe what it tasted like. It was amazing. My mouth was very disappointed when I finally swallowed. So whoever you are that sent us this gift, thank you very much! [69]

Cynthia and I have been together since December 30, 2006, the trial period is over and all the warranties have expired. 9 wonderful years as of 2015 and our goal is to visit all the lower 48 states before time runs out. We've been to 28 states and 19 national parks together so far (we don't count places we've been before we met). Not too shabby, but we still have a long way to go. Lord willing, we'll make it to each of the lower 48 and maybe even Alaska and Hawaii if we hit the lottery. This site documents our travels over the years through articles, stories, pictures and videos. We hope the information we share will make your journeys a little easier. [70]

Merry Christmas everyone. We hope you had a great year in 2015 and that 2016 will be even better. Although we don't know the real date, this is the day we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. We long for His return. Are you ready? [71]
