San Antonio, Texas

On this road trip, we visited historic San Antonio, Texas. We had spent about 15 months in Mission, Texas and we were on our way back towards Alabama and wanted to see the sights in San Antonio. We especially wanted to see the Alamo and the Riverwalk area. Of course, we had to see all of the old missions that are in this area. We stayed almost a week at the Traveler's World RV Resort and took the bus or the Jeep into downtown.

Going inside the Alamo was the best. To actually be inside the fort where so much fighting took place. The grounds around the Alamo were well maintained and easy to navigate. Jerry had to use his wheelchair because of all the walking involved. The downtown area of San Antonio is very cool and the planning that went into the Riverwalk area was well executed. Lots of shops, attractions and motels are very close to here although it can be quite expensive. It can be done on a budget and we did just that.

San Antonio was simply amazing and we tried to see as much as we could while in the area. The history there is captivating and it was awesome to be able to see the places where so much of American history took place. Take your time and browse all the pictures shown below, and hopefully you'll get nearly as much enjoyment viewing them as we had taking them.

We visited here in 03/2012.
