Well, Groundhog day came and went. So we'll either have 6 more weeks of winter or it will be a month and a half before spring. Yeah, that's an accurate forecast - LOL.

Now I've heard we all have a look-alike running around somewhere so I tried to find mine. Turns out I don't have one that looks just like me, but I do have several who vaguely look like me. I guess that depends on who you ask, though.

So these 4 fellows are supposed to be my celebrity look-alikes. I do kinda resemble Tony Blair and Jacques Chirac but I don't really think I look much like "Hutch" from Starsky & Hutch. I had never heard of Stefan Raab so I had to Google him. Still don't know who he is... LOL.

Can you tell I am getting cabin fever?

We had one warm and sunny day this past week and I took advantage of it. I installed the new Oxygenics shower head in the camper, added a few more shelves under the sink so Cynthia will have room for more kitchen stuff and I replaced the long storage bin in the front compartment with a shorter, stackable set. This freed up a nice size area under the bed.

It's a beautiful day today, the sun is shining... but it is only 40°! Brrr! I'm going to try to make a video of all the things we have done to the camper. Individual pictures are OK but I think a video would be cool. One day when it is not freezing outside, I will work on that. Our video camera is really neat, it is the Kodak Zi8. It fits in your shirt pocket, has image stabilization and connects to our laptops via a built-in USB port. Our regular camera is a Sony DSC-H2, an older model but it still takes amazing pictures. A newer camera is the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ70, it is very nice and very reasonably priced. Ours still works like new so we're not in a hurry to upgrade.

The local Sun Coast RV dealer had an event today and we decided to go. We aren't in the market for a new camper but they had free BBQ and a drawing for some prizes. We strolled through some of the motorhomes and admired all the amenities in them. We also looked in a big assortment of travel trailers and fifth wheels just to see what they looked like. They seemed to have a lot used campers there and most were really overpriced. We noticed that at least one camper was sold but didn't see which one it was. We enjoyed looking at all the campers and in the end, we didn't win any prizes but it was a fun way to kill a few hours.

We had our 5 year old grand daughter with us and she thought it was just wonderful to look into all the campers. She would comment on the size of closets, how many TVs they had and how many steps to get into it. When we left around 2 PM, she was in the car for about 5 seconds before she fell asleep. Poor thing was worn out. Tonight Cynthia and Gracie are baking heart shaped cookies and cupcakes then headed to the local library to see the Disney characters. Fun, fun!

OK, spring is not far away. The trees are starting to bud! So on that note, we trekked on down to Sam's and picked up 2 new 220 Amp-Hour 6v batteries for the camper. We're finally replacing the puny 12v that came with the camper 3 years ago. The Sam's batteries were $50 less than Trojan T-105s (which is what Jerry really wanted) but for the savings difference we felt it was worth giving these batteries a shot. They carry the Energizer brand and were manufactured by Johnson Controls this month so they are brand spanking new. We'll get them installed in the camper and equalize them right away (gotta love the new solar system capabilities).

The new 6v batteries are in and equalized. We had more than enough sun today for the solar panels to do the job quickly. I updated the mods page to show the new batteries as well as a few other mods we recently completed. They were new clear sliders on the screen door, an Oxygenics shower head with a water cutoff knob, an over-the-door hanger and a wall mounted magnetic dry erase calendar. We also go a 14.4v Shark hand vac for the camper since a regular vacuum would take up too much space. It is big and strong enough to keep the camper clean for a very long time.

We ordered a set of custom made Tervis Tumblers, they are glasses that don't sweat. We have two 8 oz. ones but we wanted a pair of 16 oz. ones as well. They carry them at the local Bed Bath & Beyond but they didn't have any we really liked. The ones we ordered have our names on one side and "RVing" on the other. We really like them plus they have a lifetime guarantee! Here they are...
