Once again, we served at our church for Trunk or Treat and it was fun. Cynthia was in charge of the guides and Jerry was a counselor for those who had prayer requests or wanted to know more about Jesus. That is much more productive than passing out candy at the house.

This month our only trip will be to visit Jerry's Dad in Georgia for Thanksgiving. We planned to go earlier in the year but a hurricane changed those plans. We'll spend a couple of days visiting then head back to Alabama. This will be our last trip of the year as Jerry's daughter and her family will be coming to us for Christmas. [106]

Well, it looks like the 45th president of the United States will be Donald Trump. Personally, I am very happy about that. He will get to nominate the next judge for the US Supreme Court and perhaps 2 more in the course of his presidency. He will repeal and replace Obamacare and he will reduce the size and authority of the federal government. Many liberals disagree with his policies just as conservatives disagreed with Obama's policies. We had to endure the Obama presidency so they get to endure Trump's presidency. Let's hope he does right by the country and actually makes America great again. He is in our prayers. [107]

We are in the process of preparing for our Thanksgiving trip to Georgia to see Jerry's Dad. We try to get over there at least twice a year but we don't always do that. His Dad will be 76 this year and he is not in the best of health, a lifetime of smoking has taken it's toll on his lungs. He has severe emphysema and has to use oxygen. If you smoke, quit now. Trust me on this one.

Next spring we will be heading to the northeastern United States to visit that part of the country. The 2 things we want to see are Washington DC and the Statue of Liberty. We'll take a tour in DC and just take pictures of the statue from Liberty State Park. We don't care to go out to Ellis Island. When we get to DC, we wanted to stay at the new Trump Hotel but it is just too expensive for us. The cheapest room is $500 per night and we will need 2 nights. It would be awesome to stay there but we'll have to settle for just visiting it. Unless President Trump sees this post and comps us a room for 2 nights. That would be a once in a lifetime thing for us. And yes, we voted for him.

If you want to check out our plans for our 2017 road trip, there is a link in the right hand menu. This will be a 2 week adventure with a lot of driving as our primary goal it to pick up all the NE states we haven't been to yet. It'll be fun but likely not as exciting as our big 2014 road trip was. Be sure to review all the road trips we have taken since 2008, you'll enjoy all the pictures and information. If we don't post again before Thanksgiving, y'all have a very Happy Thanksgiving! [108]

We had a great visit with Jerry's Dad and his wife Sharie. We did not do any Black Friday shopping, but the ladies did go to a few stores Friday afternoon. We just spent t2 days with them visiting and catching up on things. They are well into their 70s so we like to visit them as often as we reasonably can. It is a 6 hour drive from us to them so to have a full day with them, it is a 3 day trip. Now to get prepared for December. That is going to be a hectic month. [110]
