Mount Rushmore

Mt. Rushmore is one of those places that we have always wanted to go see and once we got there, it was better than we thought it would be. It is an awe inspiring site to say the least. The crowds weren't terrible but it was hard to get a picture without a boatload of strangers in the background. It is free to see the monument but they charge you to park... so yeah, it isn't free.

We did not stay too long here as it requires lots of walking to get to see many of the side attractions they have there. We took pictures of the things we went past as we traveled from the parking deck to the viewing area and you can see them below. It was kind of strange to hear so many foreign languages being spoken as we walked around. I am surprised that so many non-Americans want to see this monument. I say non-Americans because it is my opinion that anyone who comes to this country and truly wants to be a part of it will take the time to learn our language.

We visited here in 07/2014.
