The Painted Desert
After driving through the Petrified Forest National Park, we came into the Painted Desert area... or at least part of it. It is a vast area and we only saw a very small portion of it. It was still quite breathtaking, nonetheless. We saw this old abandoned car which has likely been there wasting away in the desert sun for decades, and of course, we saw the terrain that the area is named after.After living in the Southeast nearly all of our lives, it is amazing to see how the West differs so greatly. The landscape, the people, the climate, etc... this is what makes a vacation like this worthwhile. We are thankful that we took the time to create these awesome memories that we will have for the rest of our lives.
