Lottery Ticket Road Trip
There is no state or national lottery in Alabama (as of the date when this page was created), so we have to go to Georgia to get our Mega Millions ticket. We always get a "quick pick" set of numbers good for 26 consecutive drawings. This way we only have to make a "lotto run" every 3 months or so. The reason we don't play the same numbers over and over is simple... as soon as we let our ticket expire those numbers will hit. With random numbers each time we get a ticket, we don't have to worry about losing $200,000,000.00 because we didn't get to Georgia in time to get a ticket. I reckon we spend $100 a year playing the Mega Millions and even though we don't ever expect to win, we still get a lot of enjoyment out of having a ticket. Your odds of winning with a single ticket is about 1 in 170,000,000. Your odds of winning without a ticket is ZERO! And every week, some guy with a ticket wins and some guy without a ticket doesn't. :)We made this trip in 04/2013.
