Our Rig
Our tow vehicle is a 2003 Chevrolet Crew Cab 1500HD with a 6.0L Vortec engine coupled to an HD 4L80E automatic transmission. Power output is 300 HP @ 4,400 RPM and 360 ft lb of torque @ 4,000 RPM. Interior amenities include A/C, power everything, AM/FM/CD, CB, tilt, cruise control and a Primus IQ brake controller. The rear axle ratio is 3.73, our truck weighs 6,824 lbs loaded, our trailer weighs 4,878 lbs loaded, the gross combined weight is 11,702 lbs. We average 16.5 MPG when not towing and 9 MPG when towing.
Our travel trailer is a 19' 2008 Palomino Gazelle G210 made by Forest River. It hooks to the truck via a 10,000 lb rated Equalizer brand weight distributing hitch. The camper is fully self contained but we have slightly modified it to better suit our needs. You can view the mods we have made by following the link in the menu to the right.
Our scooters are two 2008 Honda Ruckus NPS50s. They are about the only scooters made by a major manufacturer that we're not ashamed to be seen on. And let's not forget that they will go about 40 MPH, get 112 MPG and are absolutely fun to ride!

Check with your local DMV or Driver's License office. They will be able to
inform you about your local laws.

What are you powering with the solar? Do they hold up well during hail
storms and so on?
